The creation of Silvertine was born from a decade of searching for the ultimate hunting environment, and has been one of my greatest passions. I am certain we have created an environment that will emphasize the ethical principles of hunting, one built on the policy of “Fair Chase”, and a preserve that will create a memory of a lifetime. Your interests are my number one priority, and I want you to return again, and better yet, to tell your friends of about the great hunting experience you had with Silvertine! My extensive 23 years of hands-on background in my hunting business has shown me exactly what the client is looking for in a preserve hunt. They want three simple criteria:
Silvertine is a privately managed hunt preserve so no hunting license, set seasons, or bag limits are in effect. All hunts are 1x1, 2x1, or 3x1 guide services with very experienced and talented guides. They have an exceptional understanding of the game and the preserve habitat. Hunters can choose to hunt with rifle, bow, crossbow, or muzzleloader. Hunting is done in large blinds comfortable enough for up to 6 people, or still hunting, and calling (bugling, cow calls, and rattling). We can challenge the most avid hunter! Rifle Hunters: Rifle hunters entering Canada are required to declare their firearms when entering/leaving Canada. CLICK HERE to get the proper forms only from the Canadian Firearms Centers web-site to bring your firearms into Canada. There is a $30.00 Canadian fee. Bows and crossbows are exempt. Meat and Trophy Care: Silvertine’s experienced staff will handle all your meat and trophy requirements. All meat is recovered from the preserve using quads. The meat is taken back to the lodge, cleaned, and hung in the meat house, ready to be prepared by a meat processor. With prior arrangements, hunters have the option of taking meat home that is pre-possessed at an additional cost. Importing Meat to U.S.A. For those hunters that wish to return home with their bounty of meat from their Big Game animals at the conclusion of the hunt, we provide all the necessary export permits and paperwork. This is all included in the “Preserve Fee”. All Elk, Deer, Boar, and Bison meat are allowed to be brought into the USA with proper paperwork from us. Great Accommodations and Camp Life: The second you walk in the door of our lodge you will feel totally at home and relaxed. Our brand of "Rustic" is what our hunting guests and families appreciate. Combine tasty meals with wonderful surroundings, and you have great camp life. It won't take you long to discover that we are delighted to have you as our guest. If you or someone in your party has special dietary requirements just let us know beforehand, and we will be happy to accommodate you. Breakfasts are quick and easy, and hunters have a choice of multiple flavoured muffins, cold cereals, instant oatmeal, toast, or bagels. Lunch is typically sandwiches and soup. Dinners are a variety of taste tempting, hearty ranch-style fare from famous elk and buffalo. The main cabin sleeps 5 people, and our second cabin sleeps 4 and is for guests or couples. The cabins are very warm, dry and comfortable. There is hot shower stalls in the main cabin with gravity feed heated water, a flush toilet, and sink. Due to the cold temperatures we have to close our showers and flush toilet down approximately November 1, after that it’s an outhouse. Taxidermy Services: Steve Rahn is also a renowned taxidermist. During the winter months he further delights his hunting customers by serving their taxidermy needs. Hunters have the option of leaving their trophies with him to ship or mount, or take back their packaged capes to their taxidermist at home. Many airlines will not allow you to travel with large antlers, so check with your flight company before traveling. We can handle shipping of trophies to anywhere in the world. Taxidermy services not included in hunt packages. CLICK HERE to get to our taxidermy rates page. Granitites: Tipping is a sensitive subject, and something we here at Silvertine feel should come from your heart, and not be imposed or something that is manditory, but something earned based on providing quality services to you . . our guest. Tipping the guides and staff is truly part of well managed services. I am often asked "How much should I tip my guide"? As a guideline, it is industry standard that satisfied guests tip up to 10% of their total hunt cost. The majority of the tip going to your guide, and the remainder being split up between other staff that assisted in your hunt. If you do not feel your guide deserved a tip, please let us know.
